A Bengal cat looks like a traditional ordinary cat just as tigers, panthers and jaguars look like. It’s just that a quiet house pussy and, say, a leopard have a slightly different expression of their faces; and so, the Bengal cat, a creature, undoubtedly, a domestic one, managed to preserve exactly that arrogant and strict face, which happens only with large and free predators. Anyone who dares to look into the cold eyes of a Bengal and withstand his gaze can be convinced of this.
This can be seen on any photo of representatives of this breed.
The Bengal cat is one of the youngest cat breeds, and it was discovered in America. Just one American lady once thought: I wonder what will happen if we propose to her a perfectly ordinary domestic cat a beautiful Asian leopard cat? Oddly enough, the cat leopardich did not eat, but quite the contrary; and so a new breed was born. That is, of course, the official appearance of the breed was preceded by many years of intense breeding work, but we don’t need to know these technical difficulties.
A Bengal cat is a weighty creature: for a cat, the norm is 10-12 kilograms (after all, in their ancestors they have a real leopard cat, Felis bengalensis). However, they look very elegant, and even compact: dense bones and molten muscles weigh a lot. And so that the whole structure does not begin to weigh even more, you have to follow the Bengal diet – the appetite of these cats is more than healthy, besides they differ in some tendency to be overweight. There are a lot of rumors about Bengal cats. For example, they say that they are malicious, aggressive and uncontrollable, and perhaps this is what happens when it comes to first-generation cats, that is, those who had a wild leopard directly in their mothers or fathers. But no normal breeder will sell cats to the first generation to an innocent person; but the Bengal cat, a little farther away from its wild ancestors, seems to be completely devoid of flaws.
Yes, they are independent and do not tolerate familiarities – if you tie a bengal around the neck of a bow and lay it with you in bed, he will be extremely offended. They do not tolerate violence; those who grab them by the hand do not approve too much – however, are there many among us who are able to easily pick up twelve kilograms of live weight? But at the same time, a Bengal cat is a very affectionate creature: it has two or three beloved people, and to these people a Bengal cat constantly heaps with all sorts of tenderness.
These cats purr simply deafeningly – and indeed they are very talkative: they meow, blather and shout something all the time; Well, the cries that uncastrated bengals are capable of immediately suggest thoughts of a wild and terrible jungle. By the way, breeders highly recommend everyone who has brought a Bengal for the soul, and not to get a bunch of little Bengals, certainly a cat and a cat to sterilize: bengals are hypersexual, so in a house where these creatures are extremely worried about love issues, a person will live pretty hard. Yelling, smelling – just like other cats, only a hundred times more intense. Bengals are patient with children, but to the best of their ability – to swaddle themselves like a doll, and kiss them until bruises, they do not allow anyone. However, they understand that children can not be scratched much, so they try to somehow get out of the baby’s tenacious legs and run away to hell.
But the birds, mice, and guinea pigs in the house where the bengal appeared, are not the tenants: alas, they will all be rescued. Moreover, a Bengal cat is quite capable of going somewhere outside the city for a short walk, with which she will bring you a strangled hare as a gift to her personally, such a powerful hunter. And bengals are very smart and constantly win on cat agility. Artful, funny, sociable, very strong and healthy, bengals live a little longer than other cats: 14 years for them is not old age (and their ancestor leopard generally lives up to 30 years). There is practically no need to care for Bengals – their marvelous hair does not need to be combed.
Wash them, too, to anything – bengals are simply manic cleanliness, so they consider it their duty to thoroughly lick out, even if they were touched with at least one finger. However, Bengal cats today remain a big wonder in Ukraine – we have no more than two dozen of them. Yes, and they cost very well for cats – from 1500 to 3500 euros. And if so, then there are people among us who start one Bengal, then they catch completely rootless cats with matrimonial purposes in all the neighboring yards, and their offspring sold together are disguised as real expensive bengals, so you should be vigilant when buying a bengal.
